Inbound Logistics (Customs Clearance) - Specialist

Job Description:
- Prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import of goods and avoid delays, storage fees and demurrage.
- Follow up with Buyers for reception of complete set of shipping documents for customs clearance purposes and ensure its compliance with Egypt Customs regulations and exemption lists' requirements.
- Confirm vessels' arrival time to the Finance Department for payment purposes, and to Buyers to guarantee availability of shipping documents prior to vessels' arrival to avoid paying demurrage or storage fees.
- Keep records of all demurrages, detentions, etc. and follow up with the concerned buyers for settlements and implement preventive actions to avoid customs penalties.
- Prepare a justification note in case of paying demurrage mentioning the reasons of the penalty paid.
- Prepare and follow up on the payments for the customs house with the Finance Department.
- Coordinate transportation and storage of imported goods.
- Arrange weekly schedule for foreign orders.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse the arranging of containers for unloading as per the weekly import schedule.
- Follow up with the Freight Forwarders, couriers and shipping lines for freight quotations and price lists for inbound shipments.
- Prepare and arrange all Nafeza requirements for sea and air imports.
- Manage the inbound shipments and coordinate with planning and warehouse facilities for accurate arrival times.
- Handle carrier negotiations and compliance.
- Resolve carrier issues aligned with any service failures that arise.
- Follow up on internal issues that affect the clearance acceleration.
- Proceed with bank deposit for THC, Freight & Storage invoices to the shipping line account.
Required skills and experience
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience is preferred in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in logistics and support services management.
- Excellent in English language & MS Office
- Strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Hard Worker, alert and good at follow up.
- Strong knowledge to prepare and arrange all Nafeza requirements for sea and air imports.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills.
